The iris has a reflex connection to every organ of the body via the nervous system. When structural irregularities or markings are detected in the iris, the practitioner refers to the underlying reflex zone.  We utilise iridology in naturopathic consultations as a diagnostic tool. 

No two irises are exactly alike; irises are as individual as are fingerprints. Personal identification for security purposes can be determined by iris scanning, proving this to be true. Iris colour and fibre patterns determine underlying inherent, or genetic weaknesses and these are regulated to a large extent by dietary & lifestyle choices. In this manner, iridology can be used to determine potential health issues before they manifest themselves, giving the client a window of opportunity to prevent illness and achieve optimal wellness. 

The iris is a unique portrayal of the health issues of our past three generations: our parents, grandparents and great grandparents. How we approach the knowledge gained and the preventative measures we take, determines our health outcomes. 

Iridologists assess both colour and fibre structure to determine a client’s physical and constitutional strength and personality traits. Iridology is not a treatment, rather it is used as an insightful screening tool to detect genetic predispositions in individuals. To this end, iridology can be used to identify specific ‘nurture points’ and potential health problems in their early stages and gives an opportunity for individuals to prevent disease and maintain optimal wellness and good health. 

As a practitioner tool, iridology can be a substantiating factor, used in conjunction with other analyses, to assist in the naturopathic assessment of clients and the development of a treatment protocol.
